I go to the UB when I can and David has been there for me several times. Just to talk to me, to help me, to support me. He's helped me get rides to college interviews, been there to talk to, checked up on me in my quest to break drug addictions. He's helped out a lot of us in the community and given us a place to hang out and just be listened too. I know a few people that see the UB as a home away from home. I know it means a lot to him and to us.

The Ultimate Basement is a center for children to come play video games, jam out on the guitar, skate, play pool, and do other fun kid centric things. This guy operates at a loss to give the local children somewhere to go and stay out of mischief. I'm fairly certain this guy is a Christian. He has several local Christian bands play there. As far as i know this guy doesn't proselytize to the children. He just gives them a safe area to play and have internet access. Please see what this man does for the community. I grew up in this area and would have killed for something like this when i was young. I just got back from a show at the ultimate basement!!! That is an amazing place. "The Gerb " is definitely a cool guy. It is an absolute travesty that the community isn't embracing his efforts more. This guy is trying to do a great thing and not getting any local help.

I've had places like this to hang out in some communities I've lived in, and they do an awesome job of keeping kids off the streets, especially nights like Friday and Saturday when they are the most likely to get in trouble. I'm a little surprised that City Council hasn't been guilted into kicking in some cash and resources for you guys.

you have my thanks for setting something like this up. By no means do I come from a "bad neighborhood" but there's a whole hell of a lot of nothing to do around here and that does lead to a lot of drug use and partying and other generally stupid behavior in people my age (teenagers/young college kids) and I would have done anything to have something like this when I was growing up.

If I had had a place like this to hang out through middle/high school, I think it would have made a big impact on the kind of person I was entering adulthood. Me and my friends got into some seriously bad, and often dangerous, shit simply out of boredom and lack of a place to go.

I really could have used a place like this growing up. We had a teen center, but the city shut it down due to "budget" restrictions.

Kick ass place not only to play but just to go to as well. Bands like it because not many places do they play where their kids of all ages can come and see them play! Also parents love this place they can come and see a show and its like having a free babysitter! The kids go play the games and run around with their friends while the parents get to rock to some GREAT shows! It's a local place for me and I love to head up there!
